Preventative Maintenance – 4 Healthy Habits for Your Car
Just like your body, your car needs proper care to function properly and efficiently. If you begin healthy car habits early, you’ll likely get into a good preventative maintenance routine. Whether you’re driving a new car or an older one, here are the top four things you should be doing to make sure your vehicle stays in shape.
4 Preventative Maintenance Tips
Read through the owner’s manual and note recommendations. Each car is different, so it’s important to know the time table for routine checks based upon your vehicle’s mileage.
Change your oil and other fluids regularly.
Check tread depth. Do a simple test by inserting a quarter into the tread upside down. If you see Washington’s head, AAA recommends you begin shopping for new tires as tread depth has reached 4/32”.
Perform a battery check seasonally at an auto repair location. They’ll not only check your battery but will make sure your connections are clean and working properly.
A car is a big financial investment that requires attention and proper care. Our trusted AAA Car Care team can let you know what your owner’s manual recommends for your vehicle at your mileage point, as well as perform the work for you. Stop by one of our AAA owned locations for all of your car repair and preventative maintenance needs — from oil services and tire replacement to complete engine diagnostics.
