What’s New at Carowinds?
It's summertime! That means longer days with more time for fun with friends and family. What better way to kick off summer than a visit to Carowinds, our local adventure destination? They've added some new options this year, so make sure you check out these new attractions:
New Zone — What's old is new again with Carowinds revamped version of the County Fair. If you grew up going to Carowinds, you will remember the vintage County Fair, but this new zone takes the classic to a whole new level. With the debut of four classic rides, the County Fair provides a dose of nostalgia and homegrown thrills.
New Rides — The new rides at Carowinds this year are located in the County Fair and are vintage rides restored to their former glory. The Do-Si-Do, Rock 'N' Roller, Zephyr, and Electro-Spin may not be roller coasters, but they are just as much fun. The Do-Si-Do is a two-person ride that spins faster and faster in crazy circles as your car begins to rise in the air. The Rock 'N' Roller is a fast-paced circular ride that takes you around and around with dazzling lighting and high-energy music. Hop on the Zephyr to experience the flying swings you often see at county fairs in the South. Ride the Electro-Spin if you want to experience a freely rotating orbit through the air on floorless gondolas.
New Food Options — When you get hungry, head to the County Fair to try some delicious "blue ribbon" winning foods with a modern twist. Sample the Jolly Rancher funnel cake fritters, fried corn, chocolate fries, or even cotton candy funnel cake. In addition to these unique snacks, Carowinds has opened a new burrito cafe at the main entrance to the park.
New Stage Shows — This year, Carowinds ups its theatrics with the addition of 6 new stage shows throughout the park. Be sure to catch "Cirque Imagine," a mesmerizing new show featuring an amazing display of strength, athleticism, and balance. Make sure to also check out Carowinds' weekend offerings throughout the summer, like Brewfest, Kidsfest, and the Harmony Hall Summer Concert Series.
