Epcot International Food & Wine Festival 2017

The 22nd annual Epcot International Food & Wine Festival kicked off on August 31st and will run a record 75 days through November 13th. This famous festival is a fantastic opportunity for guests to sample food, wine, and beverages from 35 different marketplaces located around Epcot’s World Showcase. Visitors will also enjoy the Eat to the Beat concert series and a variety of demonstrations and seminars that will take their culinary knowledge to the next level. You'll be able to experience most of the festival with your regular Walt Disney World tickets, but you will need to pay for your food, drinks, and some of the demonstrations and premium events. You'll find plenty of free things to do though, including book and bottle signings, meet and greets, and more.

A variety of Demonstrations and Seminars will be held at Epcot during the festival for an additional charge. You will find Beverage Seminars where you can taste and learn about wine, beer, and spirits. Attend Cheese seminars with world-class fromagers that teach you about cheese-pairing. Check out Culinary Demonstrations with professional chefs who share their tips and tricks while you enjoy a sample of what they’ve prepared. The Mix It, Make It, Celebrate It! Seminar gives fun, hands-on experiences with activities such as cake decorating and mixology. Start your day off with a celebrity chef sharing tips and tricks while you enjoy the chef’s favorite dish at the What’s Cookin’ With….Reservations are highly recommended at any demonstration or seminar.

Back to Basics is a weekend series that offers tips and tricks from culinary professionals that will change your meals from ordinary to extraordinary! You also have the opportunity to get books and bottles signed by culinary professionals. Sessions are held at the Festival Center Spotlight Stage on Fridays through Sundays at 2:00 PM and 4:00 PM. Some of the 2017 presenters include AMERICAN HERITAGE® Chocolate, Minus 8 Vinegar, Blue Diamond/Almond Breeze, and Twinings™ of London. Also, check out Ghirardelli's The Chocolate Experience: From Bean to the Bar.

The Eat to the Beat Concert Series showcases a different classic band each night of the festival. The concerts take place at 5:30 pm, 6:45 pm, and 8:00 pm daily in the America Gardens Theatre in Epcot. There are several new acts for 2017 that include Mark Wills, American Authors, Devon Allman, Postmodern Jukebox, 10,000 Maniacs, Toad the Wet Sprocket, Kenny G, and more. Some favorite returning performers include Air Supply, Sugar Ray, .38 Special, Tiffany, Hanson, and Boyz II Men. Check out the Eat to the Beat Dining Package where you can book a 3-course meal for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Prices range from $43-$80 a person.

The Chew will be returning this year to film live episodes on October 4th – 6th from 9am to 12pm at the Worldview Plaza in Epcot. They will be sharing tips, tricks, recipes, and more. You can visit Walt Disney World’s website for more information on how to obtain an audience ticket. Over at “The Chew Collective” in the Next Eats festival area of Future World you can taste dishes inspired by the show and enjoy a glass of chardonnay or cabernet.

Remy’s Ratatouille Hide & Squeak will also return this year. Kids of all ages can embark on a scavenger hunt around the World Showcase searching for Remy and his ingredients. Join in the fun by purchasing a map and stickers from any of the designated Festival merchandise locations. Once you’ve completed the hunt and turned in your map, you will be awarded one of six Remy’s Ratatouille Hide and Squeak limited edition pins.
