Rhythm & Ribs Festival
If you've been waiting for a good time to visit St. Augustine, the Rhythm and Ribs Festival is the time to go! Every year, St. Augustine hosts the Rhythm and Ribs Festival to celebrate BBQ, live music, and fun activities for the whole family. The 2018 Festival will take place the weekend of April 6th through the 8th at Francis Field. Award-winning BBQ from regional and national champions will be served throughout the festival, so bring your appetite!
In it's 23rd year, with several accolades under its belt, including "St. Augustine's Best Festival," the Rhythm and Ribs Festival was founded by St. Augustine Sunrise Rotary. In 1995, it began as a small Barbeque Fest and has grown each year, attracting barbeque afficionados and music lovers from all over the country. The event, which welcomes over 25,000 visitors a year, donates all proceeds to charitable organizations for local and international service oriented projects. Some previous event beneficiaries include Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Counsil on Aging, Cystic Fibrosyis Foundation, Hands for Hope, Learn to Read, SAFE Pet Rescue, Hope for Haiti, and Water Ministries, among others.
Aside from the delicious BBQ, continuous live music is a great reason to visit the festival. Headliners such as JJ GREY & MOFRO, Sister Hazel, Rusted Root, Leon Russell, Dave Mason and the Marshall Tucker Band, along with many well loved local and regional musicians, have taken to the stage over the years. This year's musical guests include The Devon Allman Project with special guest Duane Betts, Grimes Alley, Go Get Gone, The Record Company, Corbitt Clampitt Experience, and others, soon to be announced.
The event includes arts, crafts, and vendors, as well as, children's rides, games and activities. There is even a "Kiss the Pig" contest, a fundraiser for Learn to Read. Stop by on Friday between 5:00 and 10:00 P.M., Saturday between 11:00 A.M. and 10:00 P.M., or Sunday between 11:00 A.M. and 6:00 P.M. Tickets are $10 for adults on Friday and Saturday, with kids 15 and under, free. On Sunday, admission is $5 for adults, while kids remain free.
