This stop on a musical journey is in London, to experience some of England’s finest music. This concert will feature three composers, Edward Elgar, Gustav Holst, and John Rutter. Elgar was an English composer, for among whose best-known compositions are orchestral works including the Enigma Variations and the Pomp and Circumstance Marches. Gustav Holst was an English composer, arranger, and teacher and known for his orchestral suite, The Planets. Both Elgar and Holst are considered England’s finest Nationalistic composers who tend to combine native resources into their music, such as patriotic melodies and indigenous instruments. John Rutter is currently a leading English composer of traditional choral works and is the director of Cambridge Singers. All of these composers combine to form a sample of what England has to offer. We hope you enjoy our performance of works from these fine composers.

Includes lunch. The program is for adults only (ages 16 and up) and limited to 24 participants. It is not appropriate for those who may have difficulty climbing narrow ladders.
