So you think you are ready for a new vehicle?  Buying a new vehicle is something to really think about.  Cost of the vehicle itself is only one of many considerations.  Think about what type of vehicle fits your lifestyle best.  Do you have a family that you are carpooling around, or are you a single person who likes adventure travel?  Are you worried about emissions and gas prices to the extent that a Smart Car may be your best suited vehicle?  Maybe you are in the market for a luxury vehicle or crushing on a convertible? No matter how you answered these questions, buying a new vehicle is exciting!

Auto manufacturers put safety at the top of their list of priorities.  Driving your family around, and often your kids' friends, puts extra pressure on a driver to have a safe vehicle for transporting them.  An SUV may be a good vehicle to consider, as well as a mini-van.  The size of most SUV's and Mini-vans are more-than-accommodating for large groups, and normally much higher from the ground level than a car, so drivers have a better view of the road.  These vehicles usually have much higher safety ratings, too!  SUV's are also ideal for the adventurist.  Most SUV's have off-road packages that make them ideal for camping and four-wheeling adventures.  For the long distance traveler, the highway mileage is a real consideration.  Make a list of what's important to you as a driver, before you begin your search. If a high-end vehicle with all of the amenities is at the top of your list, make that your number one priority in the search.  If you've been dreaming of cruising at the beach with the top down, then look for the convertible that speaks your name.

Once you have narrowed down the right type of vehicle and price that fits your budget, check out AAA's Auto Buying Program.  You will have options for new and pre-owned, making it much easier to find the right vehicle to fit your budget.
