If you’re new to the Carolinas, you may be surprised to learn that we have our own little slice of Napa Valley right here. Both North and South Carolina are home to dozens of wineries and vineyards that rival the best in Northern California and around the world.

In North Carolina, many a grape calls the Yadkin Valley home, while the upstate of South Carolina sees a lot of prime fruit growing on its vines. You’ll find intimate tasting rooms, gorgeous scenery, ideal picnic locales and Southern hospitality no matter which winery you chose, but to help you narrow it down, we’ve highlighted three that guarantee a real “wow” factor.

Raffaldini Vineyards and Winery. Tuscany comes to North Carolina in the handcrafted wines of Raffaldini. Located in the Swan Creek area of the Yadkin Valley, the rolling hills of this winery are some of the most breathtaking outside of Italy. The Raffaldini family traces its Italian roots back hundreds of years and continues a long tradition of fusing family, food and fine wine together in the most romantic of settings.

Biltmore House Winery. No visit to Asheville, North Carolina, is complete without a visit to the Biltmore House, and that includes its historic winery. Nestled in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains, Biltmore offers guided tours, complementary tastings and more in the most distinctive of settings.

Victoria Valley Vineyards. Continue your tasting journey at this Cleveland, South Carolina vineyard, which is celebrating over 10 years of serving fine wine on its lovely terrace. Reminiscent of a French château, this winery evokes images of a European getaway. Be sure to stay for lunch in the café.
