Love it or hate it, shopping is something we all have to do from time to time. Make your marathon shopping day a breeze with these shopping tips. This tax-free weekend (August 5th – 7th, 2016 in South Carolina), make sure to take advantage of discounts and be smart about crowds, comfort, and time management.

Get A Sitter – It is next to impossible to shop with small children, so do yourself a favor and leave them at home. You will get more accomplished and avoid impulse buys if someone else is taking care of the kids.

Time Manage – Get up early to take advantage of any early bird sales and also maximize your shopping time. Stores tend to get more crowded after lunch so use those early hours to your advantage when you don't have to fight the crowds.

Plan Your Outfit – Sure you want to look good while you shop, but make sure you are dressed sensibly for the day. You might want to show off your cute new wedges, but comfortable shoes are a must. You won't last long on those hard floors otherwise. If you are shopping for clothes or shoes, make sure your clothing is easy to get on and off. Avoid lots of buttons, laces and too many layers so you can try on new clothes with ease. Lastly, make sure your purse is easy to handle. Stick with a small cross-body bag for your wallet and necessities and leave the heavy shoulder bag at home.

Know Your Discounts – Before you head out this tax-free weekend, make sure you take any coupons or gift cards with you. Be sure you have your AAA membership card with you so you can take advantage of the many discounts at all participating retailers.
