A Weekend in the Heart of North Carolina

Graduation is a time of celebration. It is also a time for the graduate to make many big decisions. They may be making plans to leave for college, join the armed forces, take a year off to travel, or maybe even start their first full-time job.

Regardless of where the graduate plans to go, most likely he or she is not completely prepared. There are many great gifts you can give to a graduate to help make their transition easier.

It’s never a bad idea to have a roadside emergency kit. You can purchase an already assembled kit for around $30, or put one together yourself. AAA offers quite a few options that you can purchase.

It’s unlikely the graduate has any kitchen or cleaning items. Purchase a small laundry basket and fill it with the basics: a spatula, frying pan, pizza pan and pizza cutter, small and medium boiler pot and a few kitchen towels. College bound graduates may need their basket to be more dorm-room related. Of course, you can never go wrong with a gift card to a grocery store or for gas. Gift cards are always appreciated.

For the world traveler, you may want to go a different route. If they are planning on backpacking for a summer or a year, they will have limited space. Purchase a small, simple leather journal with a nice pen so they can write down their thoughts or sketch while they travel. Want to help them get to where they want to go? Give the gift of travel! AAA travel specialists can help you put together a great journey for your graduate to experience.

What about the gift of security, community, travel, and discounts? Gifting a AAA membership gives your graduate a leg up on their next journey. Peace of mind for the parents and great discount opportunities for the graduate, this gift is one that truly keeps on giving.

AAA offers travel tools and advice. Give the graduate a AAA traveler magazine and smile as their adventure begins.
