There are many reasons that the Jekyll Island Shrimp and Grits Festival was voted the best festival in the Southeast, and the shrimp and grits are only two of them.

The Shrimp and Grits Festival takes place in Jekyll Island, Georgia every fall, and each year the island outdoes itself. This year’s festival takes place from September 20-22 and will be full of fun for all ages. You’ll find an artists’ market with hand-crafted goods, live music on multiple stages, and a kids’ zone with slides, bounce houses, trampolines and even a car on which they can paint!

A wide variety of shrimp and grits will be available from local restaurants, and food trucks and stands will be available for when you want to explore beyond the titular items. Beer lovers won’t want to miss the Craft Brew Fest, and those looking for some physical activity can take on the Go for the Grits 5K. It’s one of the most scenic 5K’s in all of Georgia!

If you seek a little more luxury in your festival experience, tickets for the VIP Lounge get you access to an exclusive festival retreat with an ideal location at Indian Mound Cottage. You’ll have a prime view of the Main Stage, unlimited drinks, phone chargers, air conditioned bathrooms, tickets to the aforementioned Craft Brew Fest, and a whole lot more.

Don’t miss this incredible three-day event held in the Historic District of Jekyll Island, Georgia. Get more details about the event, where to stay, and more by reaching out to one of our travel experts. Call 1-800-444-8691 or stop into a local AAA Travel branch today!
