Standing in long security lines is no fun and can slow you down.   With the TSA Pre-Check, you will have expedited screening that allows you to hustle through the airport without removing your shoes, laptops, liquids, belts, or light jackets.  For a nominal fee and a little advance effort, this could be you.

There are basically three ways to get the TSA Pre-Check.  The first is to apply for a KTN or Known Traveler Number.  This is the fingerprint application process that ensures you will have speedy entry with participating airlines at eligible airports. It does include a quick background check as part of the process. The second way is through the Global Entry program.  This program includes the TSA Pre-Check as part of their expedited service.  The third way is to receive it randomly.  This designation is usually offered to persons partcipating in frequent flyer programs with participating airlines.  The logo for pre-check is printed on your boarding pass in the upper left corner.

There are over three million members already participating in this program. Imagine the convenience of skipping the long lines and walking through the TSA Pre-Check line.  This program is now available at over 180 airports and with 18 airlines. Participating carriers are:

  • Aeromexico
  • Air Canada
  • Alaska Airlines
  • Allegiant Air
  • American Airlines
  • Cape Air
  • Delta Airlines
  •  Etihad Airways
  • Hawaiian Airlines
  • JetBlue Airways
  • Lufthansa
  • OneJet
  • Seaborne Airlines
  • Southwest Airlines
  • Sun Country Airlines
  • United Airlines
  • Virgin America
  • WestJet
