AAA Travel Agent Tiffany Heinisch's enthusiasm convinced travelers to step away from the familiar and try something new.

TRIP DETAILS

AAA Members: Art, 70 and Karen, 66, Conover, of Blythewood, SC
Destination: River cruise down the Rhine
Season: Fall 2015
Goal: Convince two Members to try a European vacation
Must-Haves: All-inclusive, upscale, great service
Travel Type: Cruise

THE CHALLENGE:

For the last three years, I've helped Art and Karen book their anniversary trip to Sandals Resort. They go every October and appreciate the Caribbean scenery, the all-inclusive value and just how easy the whole thing is. Last October, for their 40th anniversary, I challenged myself to get them out of their comfort zone. They've never been to Europe, and I knew if they were willing to take the leap, they would love it.

THE HEAVY LIFTING:

Uniworld has a boutique, all-inclusive river cruise down the Rhine. For two people used to vacationing on a beach with a drink in their hands, I thought drifting down a scenic river was the perfect foray into European travel. It's an opportunity to experience quaint European villages and cities and sample some of the region's best food and wine. For travelers who appreciate convenience, it's a great way to see four countries without having to do a lot of packing and unpacking. For those who appreciate value, all the food, drinks, gratuity, even many of the excursions, are included. I shared lots of pictures from a recent trip I'd taken, and my enthusiasm helped them get excited about a new way of traveling.

A-LIST VACATION:

"I kept telling Tiffany, 'I don't know if we should do this. I probably drove her nuts!" Karen says. "But she pays attention and she knows what we like. The trip was spectacular – she's really started something. We're already planning a 2018 trip to Italy. Traveling to Europe is in my blood now!"
