Whatever your travel dreams are, now is the perfect time to make them come true. Luxury Gold itineraries with Insight Vacations offer the ideal way to journey beyond the ordinary. Here are four once-in-a-lifetime journeys to consider.

Ultimate Italy

See Italy as few have seen it on this 12-day guided vacation and savor la dolce vita in true Italian style. Make the most of early access to the Sistine Chapel and enjoy a private tour with a local guide. Unlock the mysteries of exceptional Italian cuisine when you join a local chef for a hands-on culinary master class with lunch. Take a hydrofoil to the sun-drenched Isle of Capri and visit the Gardens of Augustus with a Local Expert to view the dramatic Faraglioni rocks just off the island’s coast. On your return to the mainland, follow the Highway-of-the-Sun north to the winding, cobbled streets of Assisi for a guided visit to the Basilica of St. Francis. Visit a workshop in Perugia to see how the art of hand-weaving textiles has been passed down through the generations. Meet an art historian for an insider’s guide to Florence. Admire Michelangelo’s statue of David, then enjoy Florence at your own pace. Cross the lush Po Valley en route to Verona, home of Shakespeare’s star-crossed lovers, where you can stand beneath the balcony said to have belonged to the Capulet family. Then it’s on to Venice where you’ll be treated to an after-hours private visit to the magnificent Doge’s Palace.

Trans-Canadian Grandeur Via Rail

See a different side of Canada as you embark on one of the most renowned long-distance journeys in the world. From the vibrant city of Vancouver, set out for the majestic Rocky Mountains before boarding The Canadian for a unique rail journey through the western prairies and lakes of northern Ontario to bustling Toronto. See the best of Vancouver during an exclusive sightseeing tour that includes historic Gastown, Chinatown, English Bay and the famous totem poles in Stanley Park. Explore the stunning floral displays, meandering paths and spectacular views in Butchart Gardens before the grounds open to the general public. Discover scenic ocean vistas and soaring mountains as you travel along the Sea-to-Sky Highway in British Columbia. Journey through four of Canada’s most breathtaking national parks: Mount Revelstoke, Glacier, Yoho and Banff and enjoy an interpretative talk at Lake Louise where you’ll learn about the history and geography of the area. Ride the Banff Gondola to the top of Sulphur Mountain for stunning views and climb on board a specially designed Ice Explorer for a guided tour of the Athabasca Glacier. Settle into your private and cozy sleeper cabin on The Canadian for one of the world’s greatest rail journeys from Jasper to Toronto. End your 16-day vacation with a visit to the base of the mighty Niagara Falls.

Indulgence in Eastern Canada

French and English cultures blend into a romantic journey through the colorful and historic cities of Eastern Canada. From cosmopolitan Toronto to charming Quebec and historic Montreal, this trip is equal parts excitement and culture. Experience a narrated cruise to the base of the magnificent Niagara Falls before exploring the shops, galleries and flower-filled streets of Niagara-on-the-Lake. Enjoy an exclusive guided tour (and and an overnight stay) of the historic Chateau Frontenac, located on one of the most beautiful sites in Quebec City. Learn how the history of the chateau and the city’s inhabitants have been interwoven and visit areas of the building not open to the general public. Dine at the family-run Le Moulin de Saint Laurent on Ile d’Orleans in an old flour mill dating back to 1720, where Chef Martin Pronovost will prepare a superb meal of seasonal cuisine. End your journey in Montreal, where you’ll learn how a pipe organ works on a stop at St. Joseph’s Oratory (home to one of the world’s greatest pipe organs), or extend your voyage with an optional eight-day cruise that sails down the spectacular St. Lawrence River, around Nova Scotia and down the East Coast to Boston.

Majestic Switzerland

Winding high among the peaks of the Swiss Alps, this 10-day guided vacation is designed to provide a breathtaking experience. In St. Moritz, join a nature guide for a stroll along the roof of Europe, taking in scenic views and mountain vistas. Punch your first class ticket and board the world-famous Glacier Express for a spectacular ride through the spiral tunnels of the Albula Pass and over the lofty Landwasser Viaduct. In Zermatt, board the cogwheel train that travels slowly up the Gornergrat mountain — the highest open-air railway in Europe. Expect superb views of the Matterhorn and Monte Rosa from the summit. On the shores of Lake Geneva, visit Chillon Castle, former home to the Counts of Savoy, and drive along the French bank of Lake Geneva, passing the town of Evians-les-Bains, famous for its natural mineral water. In Gruyères, enjoy a bubbling pot of fondue with a chilled glass of white wine before a twilight cruise of Lake Geneva. A sightseeing tour will show you Lucerne’s stirring Lion Monument, Old Town Hall, the covered bridges and Weinmarkt. Then go behind-the-scenes at the Vitznau Artillery Fortress. An experienced military guide will lead you into the fortress, carved into a mountain and kept secret for decades.

All four journeys are AAA Vacations trips with Insight Luxury Gold, which offer extra benefits for members, including a $150 Visa gift card per person for each booking. Be sure to ask your AAA Travel Agent about available early payment discounts.
