Innovative Solution for Limited Elbow Room

The middle seat armrest fight on airplanes may someday be a memory. Colorado based startup Molon Labe Seating has come up with a solution. They’ve created staggered economy seating. The middle seat is situated slightly behind, lower and several inches wider than the aisle and window seats. This provides everyone more elbow room.

Approved by the Federal Aviation Administration, the S1 Space Seat design is designed for short-haul, low-cost airlines. The seats will be equipped with a smartphone and tablet holder, USB port and latchless table. The armrests will be tiered so that the middle passenger uses the back end of the armrest while the aisle and window passengers use the front end.
